Green Diamond Resource Company is a fifth-generation, family owned forest products company. They own and manage working forest land in 10 states in the Western and Southern United States.
Green Diamond experienced substantial growth but struggled to achieve consistent safety reporting across all divisions. Some divisions used pen and paper to manage health and safety operations, while others used an Access database, which was built in-house but lacked key information to drive success.
The result was employee struggles to gain access to pertinent health and safety information. Additionally, supervisors raised concerns about the lack of transparency in training needs and managers were unable to view training results or undertake any trend reporting.
As a result, Green Diamond executives encouraged a move to a consistent practice to better demonstrate training and safety performance for all operations.
