At a Glance
- Challenge
Following rapid growth through acquisition, Solina Group expanded from 10 to 48 sites in just six years, creating a complex health and safety landscape across different countries, languages, regulatory environments and levels of safety maturity. The organization was relying on a mix of local systems, spreadsheets, and disconnected processes, making it difficult to establish a common safety language, compare performance consistently, and gain visibility across the business. Manual consolidation of safety data from sites around the world was time-consuming and often prevented teams from having meaningful, fact-based discussions about performance and risk.
- Solution
Evotix helped Solina bring health and safety reporting, investigations, and performance monitoring into a single global platform. By creating a common framework for reporting and data management, the organization gained greater visibility, consistency, and collaboration across its operations. At the same time, Evotix’s configurability allowed sites to maintain local ownership and flexibility while aligning with Solina’s global health and safety standards.

Challenges across Solina Group's complex global safety landscape
As a global food manufacturer operating across multiple countries, languages, regulatory environments, and operational cultures, Solina faced the challenge of maintaining consistency in health and safety management while preserving local ownership and flexibility. Following rapid growth through acquisition, the business had inherited a variety of reporting methods, systems, and safety practices, making it difficult to establish a common approach across the organization.
Different sites often used different terminology, reporting processes, and performance measures, limiting visibility and making meaningful comparisons between sites and regions challenging. Safety data was stored across a combination of local tools, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems, requiring significant manual effort to consolidate information and identify trends.
Without a single source of truth, valuable time was being spent gathering and standardising data rather than acting on it. Solina needed a solution that could support a common health and safety language, improve visibility across the business, and enable consistent reporting and shared learning, all while accommodating the unique needs of individual sites and regions.
We didn’t have a common language. What one site called an incident, another site might call a near miss, making it difficult to compare performance across the business.

Creating a connected, data-driven approach to health & safety
As Solina continued to grow across multiple countries and regions, the organization needed a way to bring greater consistency, visibility, and collaboration to its health and safety efforts without compromising the local ownership and flexibility that are central to its culture. Evotix provided the foundation for a more connected approach, helping Solina standardize processes, improve reporting, and turn safety data into meaningful action.
Establishing Consistent Reporting and Processes
As Solina continued to grow across multiple countries and regions, the organization needed a way to bring greater consistency, visibility, and collaboration to its health and safety efforts without compromising the local ownership and flexibility that are central to its culture. Evotix provided the foundation for a more connected approach, helping Solina standardize processes, improve reporting, and turn safety data into meaningful action.
Balancing Global Standards with Local Ownership
A key priority for Solina was maintaining the flexibility and independence of individual sites while creating greater consistency across the business. Evotix’s configurability allowed the organization to establish global standards and expectations without forcing every site to work in exactly the same way. This helped Solina strengthen governance and visibility while preserving the local ownership that is central to its culture.
Empowering Employees at Every Level
Evotix has made it easier for employees across the organization to report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, creating a more proactive approach to identifying and managing risk. Site health and safety teams can investigate incidents and monitor actions more effectively, while operational managers and business leaders have access to the information they need to make informed decisions based on real-time data.
Turning Local Incidents into Global Learning Opportunities
One of the most valuable outcomes has been Solina’s ability to share lessons learned across its global operations. When incidents or potential serious risks are identified, findings can be communicated quickly to other sites, helping teams recognize similar hazards and take preventative action before incidents occur. This has strengthened collaboration, increased transparency, and supported Solina’s goal of building a more connected and proactive safety culture.
Evotix provides the consistency and visibility we need across the group while still allowing us to adapt the system to different sites, regions and ways of working.

A common foundation for proactive safety management across a growing global organization
Following rapid expansion through acquisitions, Solina Group faced the challenge of managing health and safety across a diverse network of sites, each with its own systems, processes, and terminology. While local ownership remained a core part of Solina’s culture, they needed a consistent way to measure performance, share learning, and gain visibility into risks across the organization.
By implementing Evotix, Solina Group established a common health and safety language and reporting framework across 48 sites worldwide. Replacing fragmented systems and manual spreadsheets with a single global platform has improved visibility, strengthened collaboration between regions and enabled faster access to safety insights.
2x increase in reporting of near misses, unsafe conditions, and potential serious incidents, supporting a more proactive approach to risk management.
48 sites connected through a common health and safety reporting framework.
One global platform replacing multiple local tools and spreadsheets with a single source of truth for safety data.
Improved visibility of safety performance, enabling leaders to identify trends and benchmark maturity across regions.
Enhanced cross-site learning, allowing lessons learned from incidents and near misses to be shared globally and acted upon before similar events occur.
One example saw a chemical handling incident at a site in France investigated and shared through Evotix. The lessons learned were reviewed by colleagues in Canada, who identified a similar risk within their own operation and implemented preventative controls before an incident could occur. This ability to share knowledge across the business has helped Solina move beyond reactive reporting and towards a more preventative, data-driven safety culture.
Today, Solina continues to build on this foundation, using the growing volume of safety data captured through Evotix to improve reporting quality, identify systemic trends, and support more informed decision-making across the business.
Having all the incidents registered in the same system has helped us learn from things happening around the world and take action before the same thing happens at another site.
